Origin and extraction:JOJOSKIN jojoba oil® is an extract from fruits grown in the Atacama desert in the north of Chile, an area where there is no pollution. This desert lies between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean and is one of the driest areas in the world. The jojoba plants find ideal growing conditions there: Soils that are rich in various minerals, as well as natural condensation due to the high temperature difference between day and night, which ensures their water supply. The soils are worked using traditional methods (manually or with draught animals) to avoid any pollution from oil. No pesticides or artificial fertilizers are used. The soils are naturally rich in minerals. For this reason, any addition of fertilizers is superfluous. Jojoba is harvested once a year and cold-pressed mechanically. The oil obtained is clarified over a natural period of time, without the use of centrifugation, in order to preserve the quality of the product - in the purest sense of traditional cultures.Physical and chemical properties: JOJOSKIN® is 100% pure and natural, has a golden yellow color, is odorless and oxidation-free. It can be stored in a dry place protected from light for several years without the risk of decomposition. Its consistency is comparable to that of liquid wax. At an ambient temperature of 7°C or less, it changes to a solid state. When its container is placed in a lukewarm water bath, it returns to its liquid state without losing its properties. It is mainly composed of esters of unsaturated fatty acids and alcohol esters, but does not contain triglycerides. In addition to proteins and vitamin E, JOJOSKIN® naturally contains 96% ceramides, which envelop the cells of the dermis and regulate their natural moisturization. This prevents oxidation and the formation of free radicals, which are the most common causes of skin ageing. Its molecules are most similar to those of human ceramides, ensuring optimal absorption.
